The course includes self-paced online learning, a virtual meeting with your instructor team, and a day in the field at Bluebird Backcountry, where you’ll be part of a community that’s committed to quality education.

Who Should Take this Course:

This course is ideal for backcountry travelers who have taken an AIARE 1 or 2 course previously and want to review current practices and practice their skills.

In this Course, Students Will:

  • Discuss current snowpack factors and review snowpit techniques.

  • Review tools (online and field) for identifying avalanche terrain and route planning.

  • Practice the framework for making decisions in avalanche terrain and safe travel protocols.

  • Practice effective companion rescue. Avalanche Education at Bluebird Backcountry
