Bluebird Backcountry @ Winter Park Resort
In partnership with Winter Park Resort, Bluebird Backcountry is hosting an in-bounds experience for those who want to try backcountry skiing in a more controlled environment. We will explore 200 acres of the resort that are usually closed at this time of year and will be re-opened exclusively for Bluebird Backcountry. (The Mary Jane side of the resort will be operating as normal that weekend.)
You’ll be able to rent backcountry equipment on site, learn and practice uphill and backcountry skills, meet new friends, explore Winter Park in a new way, and generally enjoy earning your turns out on the mountain.
Pass Options
For this prototype, we are offering two different ticket options depending on your backcountry experience level. The Bluebird Pass ($50) provides a “choose your own adventure” option for more experienced backcountry travelers. The Plus Pass ($75) offers a structured day with group education for backcountry beginners.
Rental Options
Thanks to our partners Ortovox and Cripple Creek Backcountry, you’ll be able to reserve the following gear and then pick it up on site:
- Backcountry-specific boots, skis/splitboards, skins, and poles ($60)
- Orotovox packs that contain transceivers, shovels, and probes ($29)
