The AIARE Avalanche Rescue course will help you get ready for whatever the season throws at you. In this course, you will practice avalanche rescue drills in a realistic setting, dig into this season’s snowpack and discuss what to look for, and review avalanche terrain and backcountry routefinding. All students will have the opportunity to get feedback from an instructor on their rescue skills and timed practice in a realistic scenario. Students will also receive an updated AIARE field book to help with planning safe, successful backcountry days all season.
Who Should Take this Course:
The Avalanche Rescue Course is an excellent skill building course for both new and experienced backcountry travelers. This course complements the AIARE 1 nicely, or can be taken as a stand alone course. There are no pre-requisites to take Avalanche Rescue.
