Sometimes the best learning happens outside of the classroom. Spend your afternoon touring with one of our instructors and get all of your lingering questions answered. This informal two-hour tour is a perfect way to practice your skills or build them up with an experienced mentor in a positive environment. The Ski with a Mentor program is ideal for those who took a Backcountry 1 Lesson in the morning, or for anyone riding solo or with friends and looking for mentorship. Overview

At Bluebird Backcountry, we believe backcountry education should begin well before you arrive for the first day of your avalanche course. We know students get more out of their avalanche education when they’re not fiddling with gear or worried about making their first turns off-piste. We also know that practice makes perfect, which is why we’ve created opportunities for you to ski or splitboard with a pro. Our expert backcountry educators will be on hand throughout the season to give small groups of students personalized mentorship. These two-hour opportunities are perfect for anyone who finished their Backcountry 1 Lesson for the day, or those who toured in the morning on their own and want to get some advice from experienced instructors.

Ski with a Mentor does not include mountain access. Everyone must have a day pass or season pass to access the mountain for your mentored ski session.
All guests are required to carry a beacon, shovel, and probe to leave the base area whether they are with a guide, mentor, instructor, or on their own. Snow safety gear and other backcountry equipment is available for rent.

A Backcountry 1 Lesson or equivalent experience (comfortable skinning with touring equipment) is recommended. Equipment rentals available.
